1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using BoholRide (“the App”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
2. Description of Service
BoholRide is a mobile application that provides:
- Estimated tricycle and public transport fares for trips within Bohol, Philippines
- A community-driven directory of commuter routes, submitted and voted on by users
- Tools to save favorite routes and view past searches
3. Fare Estimates Are Not Guarantees
Fare estimates shown in BoholRide are approximate and for informational purposes only. They are calculated using distance, general fare matrices, and, where relevant, local government unit (LGU) fare ordinances, but:
- Actual fares are set by local drivers, operators, and LGU regulations, and may differ from the estimate shown
- BoholRide is not affiliated with, and does not set fares on behalf of, any tricycle operator, driver, LGU, or transport authority
- Always confirm the actual fare with your driver before boarding
BoholRide is not liable for any discrepancy between an estimated fare shown in the App and the actual fare charged.
4. Community-Submitted Content
Routes and related information submitted by users are provided by the community and have not been independently verified by BoholRide. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or current validity of any community-submitted route, fare, or step. Use this information at your own discretion.
By submitting content (routes, votes, etc.), you grant BoholRide a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display, distribute, and use that content within the App.
5. User Accounts
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
- You must provide accurate information when creating an account
- You may not use another person's account without permission
- We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms
6. Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to:
- Submit false, misleading, or malicious route information
- Use the App for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to interfere with or disrupt the App's functioning
- Harvest or scrape data from the App without permission
7. Location Services
The App requests access to your device's location to provide fare estimates and route suggestions. You may deny this permission, though some features may be limited as a result. See our Privacy Policy for details on how location data is used.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
The App is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to accuracy, reliability, or fitness for a particular purpose. GPS accuracy, offline functionality, and fare calculations may be affected by device conditions, connectivity, and third-party services outside our control.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, BoholRide and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to reliance on fare estimates, community-submitted route information, or GPS accuracy.
10. Changes to the Service
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the App at any time without prior notice.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines.
